Ybor City

Visit Historic Ybor City where the heart of the Latin Community evolved.  Vicente Martinez Ybor and other Havana cigar makers brought their factories and a new culture to Tampa, calling it "the Cigar Capital of the World".  Travel down “La Septima” or 7th Avenue, and step back in time on the thriving main street of this charming community.
Ybor City was the haunt of Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders during the Spanish American War.  A guide will describe historic sites such as the Italian Club (one of several ethnic social clubs in the area); stop at a small piece of Cuban real estate that honors Jose Marti and Centennial Park which was built in commemoration of Don Vicente Martinez Ybor who brought the cigar industry to Tampa.
Centro Ybor is the home of many restaurants, shops, theaters and other entertainment venues. View the beautiful and delicate hand painted tile work on the façade of the world famous Columbia Restaurant, founded in 1905 as a small corner bar and it is now a world famous Spanish cuisine eatery covering an entire city block.
Enjoy a buffet style lunch at the Columbia Restaurant in a private room.  The buffet consists of: Cuban Sandwiches, “1905” Salad, Ropa Vieja (shredded beef), Black Beans, Plantains and Dessert.
